Harry Reid Sits On Job Creating Legislation
“There
are now 23 pieces of policy legislation passed in the House of
Representatives relating to job creation sitting on U.S. Senate Majority
Leader Harry Reid’s desk.” - Rep. Allen West
By Dell Hill
Congressman Allen West (R-FL) Posted this paragraph in his most recent weekly update.
“There
are now 23 pieces of policy legislation passed in the House of
Representatives relating to job creation sitting on U.S. Senate Majority
Leader Harry Reid’s desk. If we do not develop policies that promote
confidence and certainty for our private sector, small businesses and
corporations, then we shall not truly move the needle.”
Congressman Allen West (R-FL)
The comment begs the question; “Why are there 23 pieces of job creating legislation sitting on Harry Reid’s desk in the Senate?”
I’m glad you asked.
One word: Politics
Senator
Reid doesn’t much give a damn what the House of Representatives passes
and sends along to the Senate. He has a political agenda that he’s
solemnly subscribed to and it has everything to do with the 2012
election.
The
good Senate Majority Leader will simply leave that House-passed
legislation right where it sits because the Democrats fully plan on
using the “do nothing congress”....”obstructionist congress” meme in
their political advertising next year. The ads will say “the Republican
congress did nothing but shout political slogans at President Barack
Obama...They did nothing to help the President dig the country out of
the recession”.
It
will be up to the Republicans to publicize this fact every opportunity
they get. In fact, Congressman West would be a perfect representative
to be featured in such ads!
Perhaps
as the Republican nominee for the office of Vice President of the
United States. West would certainly enhance any ticket his name appears
on.
PS: Colonel West had one final comment that deserves publication:
“Thanks
President Barack Obama- looks like radical Islamists will have a 60-65%
control of the Egyptian government. You are now right there with
President Jimmy Carter for being a total failure in Middle East foreign
policy. Is this what you meant by an Arab Spring? More like Arab
winter.”
