Reid doesn’t much give a damn what the House of Representatives passes
and sends along to the Senate. He has a political agenda that he’s
solemnly subscribed to and it has everything to do with the 2012
election.The
good Senate Majority Leader will simply leave that House-passed
legislation right where it sits because the Democrats fully plan on
using the “do nothing congress”....”obstructionist congress” meme in
their political advertising next year. The ads will say “the Republican
congress did nothing but shout political slogans at President Barack
Obama...They did nothing to help the President dig the country out of
the recession”.It
will be up to the Republicans to publicize this fact every opportunity
they get. In fact, Congressman West would be a perfect representative
to be featured in such ads!Perhaps
as the Republican nominee for the office of Vice President of the
United States. West would certainly enhance any ticket his name appears
on.PS: Colonel West had one final comment that deserves publication:“Thanks
President Barack Obama- looks like radical Islamists will have a 60-65%
control of the Egyptian government. You are now right there with
President Jimmy Carter for being a total failure in Middle East foreign

infrastructure. And if all federal funding comes through that the state
could qualify for, state and local governments would have to cover
about 98-million dollars of that cost.”

difficult to ask the 633,621 residents to accept major increases in such
things as gasoline taxes, which clobber the poor and middle class. The
current state gas tax is already astronomical. A
number of “tax the rich” proposals have surfaced, as expected, from the
Progressives, but Vermont isn’t exactly overrun by millionaires, so
it’s difficult to imagine that higher taxation rates on the well-to-do
is going to make much of a dent in that 98 million dollar shortfall. Irene
has put Vermont at a major crossroads. How the state chooses to deal
with this financial nightmare remains to be seen, but one thing is

the middle of the Karakoum (Turkmenistan) desert, close to the tiny
nomadic village of Darvaza, there is a crater about 100 meters in
diameter and more than 25 meters deep. It is called "Hell's Door".
Inside this well, a fire has been burning for more than 40 years.
A
Soviet prospecting mission began here in the fifties. In 1971, a
drilling operation exposed an underground cavity that discharged
enormous quantities of gas. Thinking the supply of gas would last but a
few weeks, Soviet engineers decided to torch the hole. And it's been
burning ever since. The intense heat coming from the crater allows
visitors to approach Hell's Door only for a few minutes at a time
because of the unbearable temperature.
At
