AZ - UCLA Half-Time Show Features Streaker & Brawl
By Dell Hill
It's not every college football game that features an extra official, a slow-footed streaker wannabe and an on-field brawl, all at the same time.
With the clock winding down in the first half on Thursday night between
Arizona and UCLA, a fan dressed as an official blew his whistle and
appeared to have the real officials fooled before streaking across the
field.
The
man started taking off his clothes and had gotten down to his underwear
when a security guard took him out with a crushing tackle.
That’s
bad enough. But the distraction allowed players to erupt into a
massive brawl that spread nearly 60 yards across the field.
Two
players were eventually ejected. Arizona defensive back Shaquille
Richardson and UCLA receiver Taylor Embree were both sent to early
showers for their roles in the melee.
Several players had to be restrained by coaches before officials got everyone back to their respective sidelines:
Note
from Dell Hill: If you need a witness as to the planning of this
foolish act, just locate the person who shot this video. It starts out
focused behind the bench, where the streaker wannabe went in to his act
and follows his frog march off the field - all the while screaming his
approval.
Meanwhile, a brawl of sorts broke out involving players from both teams.
Let’s
hope the school officials, the NCAA and local prosecutors come down
extremely hard to prevent this type of behavior from ruining the game
for everyone....except the streaker and his videographer, of course.
