Air Force One Primed To Hit The Campaign Trail
Your Tax Dollars Paying For Obama’s Re-Election Campaign
By Dell Hill
The
2012 election will once again use the electoral college voting system
to elect the next President of the United States. You all know the
drill. You vote for the delegates to the electoral college who are
committed to voting for the candidate you’d like to have as your next
president.
Here’s a wiki breakdown of the states and their total number of electoral college votes:
Electoral votes by state/federal district, for the elections of 2012, 2016 and 2020, with apportionment changes between the 2000 and 2010 Censuses
Now here’s a map showing the results of the 2008 election:
Electoral College map showing the results of the 2008 U.S. presidential election. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) won the popular vote in 28 states and the District of Columbia (denoted in blue) to capture 365 electoral votes. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) won the popular vote in 22 states (denoted in red) to capture 173 electoral votes. Nebraska split its electoral vote when Senator Obama won the electoral vote from Nebraska's 2nd congressional district; the state's other four electoral votes went to Senator McCain.
Over the next several months, keep an eye on the “official” travels of your current President, Barack Obama.
Jay
Carney, the President’s Press Secretary, says it’s important for the
President to “get out of Washington and meet and talk to the people”,
all the while suggesting that Mr. Obama’s “official” trips are not
re-election campaign junkets.
Let’s
see how many times the President takes Air Force One to “meet and talk
with the people” of Vermont, where he’s guaranteed three votes. How
about trips to the Dakotas, where he’s almost guaranteed to lose three
votes in each state? Think Obama will pay those folks a visit?
Who are you trying to kid, Mr. Carney?
The
president will be hitting the campaign trail on our tax dime every
chance he gets...and those visits will be to the states with electoral
college votes higher than 3 for one simple reason.
And we all know what that reason is.
Why not just be honest and admit it?
