Iranian ‘War Machine’ Threatens US With Annihilation
“Any
country that fights an eight year war with Iraq to a standstill isn’t
going to last very long against the United States Army, Air Force,
Marines and Navy...and you can take that to the bank.”
By Dell Hill
From
September 1980 to August 1988, Iraq and Iran engaged in what’s
generally referred to as the First Persian Gulf War. As many as 500,000
were killed and many thousands more suffered debilitating injuries from
the use of mustard gas - primarily by the Iraqis and used against their
own people, the Kurds, who control the northeastern sector of Iraq.
The final prisoner exchanges didn’t actually take place until many
years later.
For eight long years the two countries battled in World War I style, trench warfare and the outcome was basically a stalemate.
In
1991, a coalition of forces headed by the United States, totally
destroyed nearly the entire Iraqi military in just about a month. The
Iraqis were so badly beaten their elite troops were surrendering to
embedded news crews and their very best fighting forces never left
Baghdad. A dozen Iraqi fighter jets took to the air and beat an
immediate path east, to Tehran, rather than engage America’s air power
superiority.
When
Saddam Hussein (may he languish in Hell) decided to invade Kuwait, the
American military drove the Iraqis out, littering the roads with totally
destroyed Iraqi ground war fighting vehicles. The entire effort took
only days.
When
that same Saddam Hussein refused to comply with UN sanctions for many
months beyond the deadline, US led coalition forces drove “right up the
gut” and liberated Iraq in a classic military wipe-out. Again, the
highly touted Iraqi Revolutionary Guard forces cowered in Baghdad,
choosing not to tangle with the American military.
Knowing
this history is significant, because now the Iranian military is once
again rattling sabres and pounding their chests, claiming they’re not
Iraq and will defeat any American military operation that might be
conducted on their land. And in the process, they tell us that 150,000
Iranian missiles will rain down on Israel and Turkey, if there’s any
attack on their nuclear warhead production facilities. (That’s the
former nuclear energy program that Iran has created totally as a source
of electrical generating stations.)
Yawn.
We’ve
heard all this before. It’s the same rhetoric that Hussein continually
screamed to anyone who would listen just prior to getting his clock
cleaned by those evil liberators from the US.
Wake up, Iran. Lay off the poppies and water pipes long enough to smell the coffee.
Without
exaggeration, the Iranian military would be decimated by the Texas
National Guard. Any country that fights an eight year war with Iraq to a
standstill isn’t going to last very long against the United States
Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy...and you can take that to the bank.
